Invitation to Bid - Development and Management of Workforce Housing on Town-owned Property

The Town of Egremont seeks proposals for the development, either by sale or lease of the Property, a quality workforce housing development on a parcel of Town owned land located at 171 Egremont Plain Road, Egremont MA. The site comprises approximately 6.192 acres, a portion of the Property shown on the Egremont Assessor's Map 9, Parcel. "Workforce Housing" is defined as housing restricted to persons or families with income of 100% or less of area medium income as defined by HUD.

The Town invites proposals from qualified bidders to acquire the Property through fee ownership or a 99-year lease (to be negotiated) for the construction and management of rental Workforce Housing. Such a proposal should be sensitive to the characteristics of the Town and the properties abutting the Property.

Copies of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and related documents can be obtained by emailing Mary Brazie , Chief Procurement Officer, or downloading them below. The RFP and related documents can also be obtained upon request from the Egremont Town Hall, 171 Egremont Plain Rd, No. Egremont, on weekdays from 7 AM to 3 PM.

Prospective bidders can email questions to Mary Brazie , Egremont Municipal Housing Trust member, until March 20, 2024. Written answers and questions will be emailed to all who have requested the RFP.

The Town reserves the right to waive any formality, accept or reject in whole or in part any or all proposals, and cancel this RFP if it is determined to be in the Town's best interests.

Dates:

  • On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, and thereafter, Chief Procurement Officer Mary Brazie can provide digital and paper copies of bid documents.
  • Wednesday, March 20. 2024: Deadline for submitting questions
  • Wednesday, March 27, 2024: Briefing session at 1:30 PM at the project site.
  • Friday, April 12, 2024: The bid deadline is 2 PM. Faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted. Proposals received after this time will be deemed non-responsive and not accepted.
