The Town of Amherst invites sealed bids for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludge Thickening Improvements project. T

The work
involves sludge thickening improvements that includes removal of an existing abandoned dissolved air flotation thickener (DAF), the installation of a new 3.0m gravity belt thickener (GBT), constructing new partition walls to enclose the GBT room, the replacement of an exterior window wall system with a new wall/window system, installation of a new concrete loading dock, and associated HVAC and electrical work.
Estimated construction cost is three million one hundred thousand dollars ($3,100,000.00). DCAMM qualifications in the General Construction category will be required. DCAMM Update and Qualification forms will be required in the sealed bid packages for both general bidders and filed sub-bidders.
Bidder selection, procedures and contract awards shall be in conformity with M.G.L. Chapter 149 Section 44A-H. State mandated prevailing wage rates must be paid according to M.G.L. Chapter 149 sections 26-27H.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is planned for May 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Amherst WWTP, 100 Mullins Way, Hadley, MA 01035. All bidders are invited to attend.
Filed sub-bids shall be required for the subtrade of: Masonry; Metal Windows; Glass and Glazing; Painting; Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning; Electrical Work. Filed Sub-bids will be received until June 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm at 586 South Pleasant Street, Amherst, MA 01002. A bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price must accompany the bid with all required forms as stated in the IFB.
Sealed General Bids will be accepted from eligible bidders at 586 South Pleasant Street, Amherst, MA 01002 until 2:00 pm June 14, 2023 at which time they shall be publicly opened and read aloud. A bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price must accompany the bid with all required forms as stated in the IFB.
The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids,
in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.
