53 River Street Dam Removal,
Building Demolition & Park Construction
CONTRACT #5/11/2023-1072

The Town of Acton, Massachusetts, will receive sealed bids for the Dam Removal, Building Demolition, and Park Construction Contract #: 5/11/2023-1072 at Acton Town Hall’s Manager’s Office, 472 Main Street, Acton, Massachusetts, 01720, until 5:00 PM Local Time on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at which time bids will be publicly open and read.

Contractors may obtain the Project Plans and Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, Bid Alternates, and Bid Forms on and after April 20, 2023, online from www.projectdog.com (documents may be viewed electronically).

The Project base bid value is estimated to be $2,000,000. Prevailing Wages, as determined under M.G.L. c. 149, § 26-27H shall apply to this project. Materials, equipment, and supplies used on this project are exempt from sales tax to the extent provided by M.G.L. c. 64H, § 6(f).

The successful bidder will be required to remove the dam on site, demolition of the building on site, restore the channel, construct the park, landscape and restore the site. There are two bid alternates that would expand the park features including walkways, a parking lot, retaining historical elements, and more.

Bidding procedures are governed by Massachusetts General Laws (G. L.) Chapter (c.) 149, §44A, and
G. L. c. 30, §39M, as applicable and referenced in G. L. 149.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the date designated above for the opening of bids. The Contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The Town of Acton reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informalities, as deemed in the Town’s best interest.
