NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

The Town of Acton, Massachusetts, will receive sealed bids for the following contracts:

RESURFACING OF VARIOUS STREETS
ACTON, MASSACHUSETTS

CONTRACT #1/31/2024-1078

at the Acton Department of Public Works, 14 Forest Rd., Acton, Massachusetts, 01720, until 10:00 a.m. Local Time on January 31, 2024.

Specifications and bidding forms may be obtained from the Acton Highway Division ( highway@actonma.gov For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. ) during normal working hours from January 15, 2024 until the expiration of the time for the filing of bids.

Bidding procedures are governed by Massachusetts General Laws (G. L.) Chapter (c.) 149, §44A, and G. L. c. 30, §39M, as applicable and referenced in G. L. 149. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Pavement - Surfacing for the project with an estimated value of $2,018,100.00 will be required. The Contract will take effect on March 5, 2024 and expire on March 4, 2025. Awarding Authority reserves the right to extend the contract for two (2) additional 12-month options. Valuation for purposes of MassDOT Prequalification is based on first year times three (3) to arrive at an estimated total value of all bid items. The estimated value provided in the Invitation for Bid is for one year. Contractors are expected to be able to provide their services for three (3) years at three (3) times the initial estimated value.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the date designated above for the opening of bids. The Contractor must comply with the all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. The Town of Acton reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informalities, as deemed in the Town’s best interest.
