Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Division, in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Diondo, Inc. located at 1614 Navajo Point Pl., Henderson, NV 89074, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1). The requirement is for a micro CT scanner for non-destructive imaging of armor materials that will be used to scan body armor and helmets before shooting to look for material defects and after shooting to measure the bullet depth of penetration, sites of delamination, and ceramic crack patterns. The scanner will also be used on small composite samples to observe porosity and delaminations due to processing conditions. For 3D printed structures used in blunt impact tests, the government will use an in-situ compression tester inside the CT scanner to observe buckling within the 3D structures and mesh the images for modeling purposes. For projects involving additive manufactured parts, the CT scanner will be used to look for inclusions and pores.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334517 and the size standard is 1,000 employees.
