The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Division in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to FARO Technologies, Inc. located at 250 Technology Park, Lake Mary, Florida 32746, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).

Faro Technologies, Inc. is the only known vendor that can provide the Faro 3D scan arm, accessories, probes, software, and training. Due to the Head Supported Mass (HSM) program objectives and mission requirements, no other coordinate measuring machine can be used. The work under this program requires consistent equipment and software to ensure an accurate comparison of historical and future research data. Additionally, this system must be procured as a package as warranty and training are necessary, and this training is only available at point of sale at FARO Technologies.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334513 and the size standard is 750 employees.
