The U.S. Army Contracting Command – New Jersey, on behalf of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems, awarded a Stand Alone Other Transaction Agreement, Agreement No. W15QKN-23-9-C001 to contractor Textron Systems Corporation, located in Wilmington, MA, in accordance with 10 U.S. Code § 4022(b) Authority of the Department of Defense to carry out certain prototype projects. This Agreement is for the development of Close Terrain Shaping Obstacle (CTSO) Increment 1 Common Anti-Vehicle Munition (CAVM) Based Top Attack (TA) System.
The Army and Joint Forces require the capability to shape terrain with lethal obstacles across the battlespace. Lethal obstacles are a force multiplier that enable outnumbered joint forces to fight and win against near-peer enemies, while reducing friendly force casualties. The envisioned CTSO INC1 Common Anti-Vehicle Munition (CAVM) hereafter also referred to as CTSO INC1, will support the CAVM based Abbreviated Capability Development Document (A-CDD). The CAVM based A-CDD calls for a munition design that leverages as much of the CTSO design as practical for the future mid and deep systems. The design will provide an U.S. Landmine Policy compliant TA capability to address the Army’s directed close tactical obstacle capability gap as an enduring solution. Textron Systems Corporation proposed a solution that is most advantageous to the Government to fulfill the requirements of the PPON.
